iono Documentation - Reseller Discounts
The Reseller Discounts setting allows you to set up bulk discounts for resellers. You can specify a user to have their own personal discount(s) or create a reseller discount that will apply to all resellers. See the Resellers page for more details.
Individual or Cumulative Discounts
A reseller discount can be set up in two different ways with regards to how the discount is applied.
- The discount can be set to apply only to individual orders made by the reseller. This option uses the total number of items for the individual order and, if this total is between he minimum and maximum items of a discount applicaple to the reseller, the discount will be applied.
- The second option taken the total number of items for the current order as well as the total number of items that the user has purchased in the past. The total of these two values is then checked against the minimum and maximum items of a reseller discount and the discount is applied if it falls anywhere between.
The type of discount depends on the value of the Cumulative? field (explained below) when adding/editing a discount.
Adding a discount
Click the Add New Reseller Discount button. The following fields are displayed:
- Assign to - Who the discount will apply to. This can be set to All Resellers or an individual reseller chosen from the list
- Minimum Items - The low bountry number of licenses the reseller must purchase before the discount comes into effect
- Maximum Items - The high bountry number of licenses to purchase before the discount ends
- Discount - The percentage dicount to apply to the order total
- Cumulative? - If checked, the sum of the number of items in the order and the number of licenses they have purchased in total will be checked against the minimum and maximum values of a reseller discount. If it falls between these two values, the discount will be applied. If left unchecked, only the number of items in the order will be used.
- Status - Whether the reseller discount is active or disabled.
