iono Documentation - Product Licenses

Licenses are what your customers buy to get access to your products - they can expire and have certain restrictions such as install limits or specified hostnames and IP addresses. To add a license, click Add License from the sub menu when in the manage section for a product.

When adding a license the following fields can be filled out:

License Details

Name - The name of the product license as it will appear to customers.
Parent Product - The product this license will belong to.
Description - A description of the license that can appear in the order system.
Status - Whether this license will be available immediately or not (active/disabled).
License Agreement - If you have added agreements from the settings they will be listed here. A customer must read and agree to an agreement before they can view the license details in the front end.

Pricing

The pricing allows you to have an initial payment as well as recurring payments. A license can recurr monthly, quarterly and annually. You can also set that payments begin after a certain date. This is useful if you want, for example, to bill the customer once for 6 months and then bill them every month after that. In this case you would enter the initial value, a recurring value for every month and then set the payments starting after 6 months. Note that this starting after value is only supported by the PayPal and WorldPay payment gateways.

License Restrictions

Expires After - Have the license expire after a certain time period so after this time, the customer can no longer use the downloads (if you have use the integration code). The expiry date starts from when the customer's license is created.
Allowed Installs - If you use the installation integration code iono can count the number of times a product is installed. You can then set a limit to restrict the number of times this is allowed.

Misc. Options

Orders Require Validation - Set this to require that every order for this license must be approved by an administrator.
